New Headunit
Hey for the people out there who have replaced their stock headunit with a new aftermarket one, how did you like the performance after?
I'm installing my Alpine CDA-9811 and just want to make sure i am going the right route.

hmmm, interesting, i'm keeping my stock tweeters, maybe, BIG maybe if i replace my
6x9s cuz i don't know if they are full range or woofers only. so basically my alpine amp, my alpine sub, and my alpine headunit, with the other equipped pioneer sounds.

What do you have the stock Pioneer setup? Are you gonna push an Alpine amp on those? There decent speakers but cant handle any power, I don't care how many Pioneer logos are on there, there just plain paper crap speakers. If your going to put in an amp, replace the speakers.
BTW. All Balts use 6x9....Yes, even the base models have...gasp...rear speakers.

ehh i wouldnt run it like that for long... most headunits are internally bridged to 4ohm so running them at 2 ohm is not good. If you change to 4 ohm aftermarket then it should sound alot clearer but it probably wont be louder (if it is then it would need to be a very efficient speaker)

you can run an aftermarket headunit with the stock pioneer system just fine. hook up amp turn on to turn on the stock amp and you will be good to go. i been running my Z1 for over a year and its fine.

I would replace the stock speakers not bc of the 2ohm but bc the alpine are better speakers then the stock ones. but you will be fine running your headunit with the pioneer speakers
