New Kenwood deck installed - fuse question

I installed a new Kenwood KDC-538 in my base Cobalt last week, but I didn't like the fact that plugging the red wire on the wiper fuse prevented the deck from playing on ACC. So a friend who installs car audio for a living checked it out, and placed the red wire with a brown wire that's inside the fuse box. It was the only place where we could get power with the key turned to ACC.

Does anyone know if this is bad for the car or deck? Everything works fine now, but I'm just nervous it might make something malfunction. My friend says it's fine.

If someone wants a photo to explain it better, let me know, I'll take one tomorrow.

I'm trying to put a pictue of the deck, but it seems I can't post an attachement

I think this will work.

as long as it is not causing any problems and your friend knew what he was looking at then it should be fine...

Theres a brown wire off the ignition switch that you can use as a remote turn on. Just run that to a relay that is fused to constant power and your radio will come one w/ ACC.

Don't try to run the whole unit off the brown wire b/c that circuit isnt really made to have that much power pulled through it, run a relay.
