New Remote Starter installed and...
So i just got a remote starter installed on my 2010 cobalt LS standard and it works except for the fact that when you press the start button then take the key out and get out, the radio still runs for 10 minutes until the 10 minute accessory timeout goes into effect. That's not supposed to happen is it? Or is that just what comes with getting a remote start on a standard? If that's not supposed to happen i guess i'll be taking it back to the shop and getting that fixed unless they're nothing they can do about it i can always have my uncle look at it. costs 400 bucks to get the damn thing installed and i want it to work appropriately.

Wow thanks for the quick replies there guys. Alright, i figured that it should shut off as well. The radio will shut off when i open the door a 2nd time, but that 2nd time kills the remote starting sequence so it completely defeats the purpose of having to open/close the door to shut off the radio.
Thanks guys, i'll be giving them a visit and see what's goin on.

I do have a custom aftermarket head unit as well as a complete system in it, but that should not affect it turning off when the door opens i don't think

What remote starter did you get? Depending on the starter/bypass it should have an additional door pin wire specifically for just the driver door to shut off the radio after starter/reservation mode. It should account for vehicles with Retained Accessory Power.

Mine was on the car when I bought it but it does the same things as yours. Turn off car and engine remains running. Engine shuts off once you close the door but radio stays on for 10 minutes. Never considered it a big deal. I usually shut the radio off with the steering controls if I am using the remote start just so people don't keep telling me I left my radio on

-vancouverturbo: The place i got it installed at installed a galaxy 2000rs i believe, they said it was the only manual remote starter they had.
Yeah it's honestly not that big of a deal to me either, just a mild inconvenience. If i do have to turn the radio off thats no big deal. I can live with that.
itsbmw, if i knew what you were talking about i could probably try that lol

driver door and passenger door are isolated, most vehicles you would just hook into domelight which would do all 2/4 doors. Green (-) or Violet (+) would probably need to be hooked up to doors depending on polarity (cant remember off top of my head) for it to work. Did you get keyless installed or just the start function?
