new system
Hey guys, just wanted to show you all my new system. It's a Kicker CVR 12 and a Kicker CVR 10 made to fit the stock box(DREMEL FTW!) hooked up at one ohm on a 500 watt insignia amp. It hits hard but the box needs to be rewrapped because the vinyl is torn. I'm also gonna paint the stock box silver to match the car. Let me know what you guys think!

how much did that setup cost you? could you just use the connection to stock headunit using the plug to the stock sub? If so could i just hook it up to an amp, wire the new sub to the amp, and since the battery is in the back i could just run it down to the battery? Is there a good place to ground it inder the mat? i hope so then i wouldn't have to do any wiring runing up to the front of the car except what is in the trunk.

I removed the stock enclosure and cut the end of the stock harness to use the speaker cables. I then used those speaker cables to run a high to low level converter with rca outputs. From the rca outputs, plug in rca's into the amplifier. At this point i connected the power to the battery and found a good place for my ground. Right underneath the mat where the trunk meets the back of the seats, there is a good ground. I used my dremel to grind off the paint and then used a metal tapping screw straight into the floor for the ground cable. I now connected my subs and tuned the amplifier to my liking.
Insignia 500W Amplifier: $40 from Best Buy on sale
Kicker CVR 10: $55
Kicker CVR 12: $70
Amplifier Install Kit: $12
High to Low level converter: $10
Total: $187
