NO this is not another wiring harness ques.

alright my jensen 7" flip out screen should be here tomorrow. i have the regular 05 cobalt wiring harness and i know all the dumb stupid stuff that everyone says like it does actually mess with the car. but is it like honestly that big of a deal to use the special harness for the 07 cobalt? i dont have a premium system or anything at all just the standard. and i guess once i get the money to blow ill go buy the expensive one but would it honestly hurt to use the other one for a few weeks?

well i can tell you, i used the cheap harness, i have a base model cobalt, not pioneer, no onstar, no raido controlls on the steering wheel...i lost nothing using the cheap harness...if you have all the other bells and whistles, then it might be worth it for you....if yours is like mine theres no reason to need the expensive one

well just the door chime or whatever when the keys in. i dont need it.. i actually was just thinking.. why the hell would metra make a harness that ruins your car. i might still buy the expensive one just because i have a problem when i dont do things "the right way" but who knows. i wouldnt not install my new DVD player because i didnt have 100 dollars to spend on a wiring harness that isnt 100% necessary

DONT BUY THE EXPENSIVE ONE!!!! its just a scam, i have my door chime, the radio stays on till i open the door. i didnt lose anything except for xm radio since the new stereo doesnt have the built in receiver. oh and the steering wheel controls, but now i have a remote so who cares.

yes 05-06 cobalt and 07 cobalts have different harnesses BUT there is or should be a cheap harness for the 07 version and all you loose is door chimes.

yeah i actually just realized this. this whole harness thing is rediculous now. it used to be so easy before. you just go to walmart find your car and pay 7 dollars now we're talking about paying over 100.

Okay, you have the 05, again, you dont need the expensive harness. Get the cheap one. Good luck.
