No Parking Lamps, Not the Fuse - 06 SS/SC

Full disclosure, I had an '06 SS/SC G85 donor for a Goblin build. As far as I can tell, though, my issue is not Goblin-specific.

I've had a few times now, separated by a few days each, where I've had no lights that are powered through the parking lamp fuse. That's tail lights, marker lights, license plate light, and gauge cluster backlights. Everything else works, though- fog lights, low/high beams, turn signals front and rear, and brake lights. I have no popped fuses, but also no power on either side of the park lamp fuse running a multimeter from it to ground. The real kicker, though, is if I flash a tune, my lights come back. Pulling the battery does not bring the lights back, nor does pulling the PCM fuse. Any suggestions?

That's weird - I've never run into that issue or seen someone else talk about it. I would almost think it's BCM related, but I don't know for sure. I wonder if there's a relay that is the issue... I'm not as familiar with that part of the wiring on our cars.

Here's my Microsoft OneDrive link to a PDF copy of the service manual with wiring diagrams. Maybe this will help: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjjcCYuKiLfNgqBOF70266AsCfTIgA

If you're blowing a fuse consistently, you should check your wiring to make sure it's not worn through somewhere and grounding out.

Then, respectfully, you're not having the same issue. Mine is intermittent but I've never blown a fuse.

It seems to come back up when I start fiddling with the lights, so for now I've been resisting the urge to turn the stalk to check the running lights if I'm not going for a drive, and even, then, I just leave the stalk in auto. I have my heat exchanger fan wired to the fog light circuit, so, for all intents and purposes, I'm turning the fog lights on every time I drive, which should bring up the parking lights, which it usually does. So all in all, not a lot of clarity on the situation, but some form of resolution. At this point I can only explain it as a software bug in the BCM. Of course I've never had the issue pop up when I have the opportunity to put a multimeter to the backside of the fuse box so I still haven't been able to figure out whether the BCM is actually commanding the fuse box PCB relay to turn the parking lights on, but again, if it were a hardware issue, I wouldn't expect it to be as intermittent as it is, or to be fixed by flashing a tune.
