no power to the sub?

I tried to hook up my system last night but no luck. I used a test light to confirm that the amp is getting power, but the speaker wire isn't. I'm also using this LOC tapped into the rear speakers.

http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID...productID/1388

I have it wired up like the instructions say, but nothing is getting to the sub. Anyone have any ideas?

So if I understand you correctly you tapped into the rear speakers with the line converter to get an RCA connection for the amp and then ran RCA wires from the rear right and left outputs on the converter to the input on your amp.

Well if you tested it and it said your not getting power to the subs then thats good. It should not say you do. I would say you have a problem with the way your LOC is hooked up

so the test light SHOULD NOT light up with the speaker wires?

Make sure that you have the wires from the rear speakers going into A5 threw A8 and that the polarity is correct. Also if I am not mistaken the switch on the side of the LOC needs to be switched to the Line out position. Also may have to increase the gain levels on the LOC but be very careful with that because the knobs are very fragile.

They are in the A5 - A8 terminals and I switched the polarity back and forth and still got nothing. And the switch was set to LOC.

This is how it should be wired

A5: Left Rear + : Brown
A6: Left Rear - : Yellow
A7: Right Rear + : Dark Blue
A8: Right Rear - : Light Blue

Switch on LOC set to Line out

RCA from RR&LR output to Input on amp

Filter on amp set to low bypass

Thats how I had it, but I will check again after work. But even if they are switched (pos & neg) it should still send something to the sub right?

Yea even with them switched it should still send a signal to the amp to send to the subs. I would make sure that the switch on the LOC is set correctly. I think it is suppose to be set to line out but I may be mistaken so try all moving it to each position to see if it changes anything. Also make sure the ground connection for the LOC is connected. If everything is connected properly you could always move the wires over to A1 threw A4 and move the RCA to the Front output. This would determine if just the rear section of the LOC is broken or not. I had the same LOC in my car until i got an aftermarket HU and they are pretty cheaply made. It wouldnt surprise me if one side was broken

On the amp I connected it to the REM terminal. I connected it to the wiper fuse in the fuse box. The green light on the amp comes on so it's getting remote power.
