OEM subwoofer installation (need help)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to add an OEM subwoofer to my 2007 G5. The car did not come with the pioneer audio option, but I did have the middle of the road HU included with the Preferred package. I'm not really tech savy when it comes to car audio; so I'm going to need everyone's help! What will I need, Is this even possible? has anyone already done this already? Thanks everyone!

been there done that. go to your local bestbuy or equivalent and ask for a line out. you then tap into the rear speaker wire and once you wire up the line out you will know have a place to get the signal for your rcas. you can then run your remote wire off one of the fuses inside the car. i picked my IGN fuse to go off of. after that its just a matter of running the power and ground wires and your done. and of course the speaker wire to the subs

Okay, I understood most of that, with the exception of " you can then run your remote wire off one of the fuses inside the car. i picked my IGN fuse to go off of." Do i need to purchase an external amplifier to drive the oem sub, or will my HU suffice? Sorry i must admit i'm a dummy with car audio/electronics. Mechanics is more my ballgame.
