Question Oil pressure gauge install HELP!

Trying to help my son install a aftermarket oil pressure guage in his 2006 SS supercharged and having some trouble getting the new sensor in. We've been told by a GM mechanic you can't piggy back off the OEM sensor wire to the new gauge so we need to install both sensors. The new sensor is a 1/8th NPT thread and the OEM sensor is 1/2 either 13 or 15 pitch. (One place told us 13 and the other 15. ) The angle for the OEM sensor to screw into the 2.0 ecotec block is kind of wierd. My questions are:

1. What is the thread for the OEM sensor?
2. Has anyone done this and if so what kind of set up did you use?

Any constructive help would be absolutely great!
Thanks in advance

Thanks folks. I told Kanabrewski I found the other post. This may be why the screwey thread sizes on the OEM sensor, IT'S METRIC! I think these parts guys ect are thinking American.

Are you absolutely sure you can just remove and replace that sensor with the new one? We have Glow Shift gauges BTW. Are there different Ecotec 2.0s? We've been told by several people not to even piggy back off the OEM as the car won't run since this sensor is tied to the fuel pump?
