OK, so there is really no way to keep factory speakers/amp with aftermarket H/U?

I have the Pioneer System in my cobalt and think it sounds really good. I definatly want to keep it. But throughout the threads I have been reading, some say you have to completely rewire the system to get your IPOD to work, others say it is no problem. And belive me, I have read all 20pgs of this subforum.

I would like to install an Alpine CDA-9852 and their ipod interface. But I definatly do not want to mess with the sound of the system and want to keep the factory sub.

So to you people that have put an aftermarket h/u in and kept factory sound, how did you do it?

Thanks and nice forum yall have here.
