Optima battery
So I have an 08 LT Sedan and there is a cable hooked up to the side the battery (not the terminal) that runs through the floor of the trunk. What is that? How do I disconnect that to take out the battery? How do I (or can I) hook up an Optima Red Top to that?
Never had any prob taking out a battery before so I feel kinda ridiculous asking but I'm not familiar with new car electronics.

I've had horrible luck with the optima spiral cell batteries. 4 batteries over 3 years in my Camaro and all had dead cells. Best batteries I've owned have all been Interstate...

Too late...the Optima went in right after they told me what that tube was for...it did come with a 3 year warranty so if it goes bad w/in that I'll give Interstate a try.
Thx guys

i have had my yellow top for over 2 years...never heard of anyone having a problem with them (IDK abt the red top) and its what i recommend to people that ask me.
were u using the Deep cycle?
also the technology optima uses will provide over 1000 CCA for up to 30 seconds, thts pretty much more than any other battery on the market
plus
non spilable can be mounted anyway including upside down
will work the same in any temp
//im partial to optima if u couldnt tell lol\\

Yea I got the red top because I kept hearing good things about them and I've had nothing but problems and for $160 I'm gonna keep letting them replace it until they tell me no more. It's just frustrating...

oh no doubt, i would be pissed as hell if my expensive yellow stopped performing. esp after u pay the premium for it.

You guys probally have other power drain problems if your using brand new optimas. Red tops are specialized for starting and yellows are specialized for performance deep cycle(sound systems). I recomend them to everyone, and everyone thanks me after. No starting problems once they switched to optima for a little more cash. Kinetic batteries are okay too but I prefer a yellow top any day for a system. If you keep running into problems and if you do have a powerful sound system look into running a second battery. I have a redtop running my car and yellow for the system. With the help of a stinger 150 amp isolator relay and the battery being in the trunk its not difficult to wire.
Red tops should come stock under alll hoods if you ask me.

Mine have had DEAD CELLS. It's not that ooo the battery is drained lets jump the car. Once this happens even if you jump the car or put it on a charger it won't jump or hold a charge. Interstate batteries are the absolute best IMHO.

LIke I said Interstate batteries are the best! Even if they are made by the same company and if they are it looks like the attention to quality has dropped off on the Optima line...
