Pioneer unit too long for dash, any ideas?

I got a panel kit for the dash and the Pioneer DEH-P3100UB.

The radio itself won't clip all the way down into the new dash kit because the amp RCA wires seem too long.

My question is, is there a place I can buy very low profile RCA wires, that I can then connect to the RCA that runs to the amp?

I don't know what is behind the metal panel inside of the dash and don't want to cut in to there.

Anyone else hit this problem before?

there is a plastic piece behind where the radio should go if you take a saw or a dremel and cut that piece out it will fit.

yeah, remove the metal piece back there, it comes out with about 3 screws i think. Then get rid of the plasic and you will free up a good couple of inches. I found wire snippers got the plasic piece disconnected pretty well.
