Same **** happened to me. Realllllly annoying. I think I need this... Pioneer CD IU230V - iPod to car audio/video interface adapter - Male Apple Dock connector to M RCA, 4 pin USB Type A

Sound with everything else just no ipod. The ipod interface comes up, shows that the song is playing, shows the album art, everything. Just no audio. I googled it and it said to change some settings around and I did that but still no luck. I ordered the cable so I'll let you guys know if that fixes the problem. Found the cable for $26 on Amazon.

I believe the standard ipod cable will work with a regular ipod for sound ONLY, but if you want to use it with an iphone, or to play video then you have no choice but to buy that cable

Plug in the usb charger and the aux cord to the ipod (like you would a set of headphones but to the cord that runs from the unit and the ipod aux jack). I know you have to have both plugged in. I had the same problem.

I'd rather just get the cable. Makes it clean and has no wires hanging out all over the place.

No, you need the pioneer one. You plug the RCAs into the ones on the back of the head unit labeled "audio in". then you plug the male end of the usb on the cable into the female end coming from the usb. Last, you plug the remaining end into your ipod.
Dude, I ordered it on Saturday from Amazon and it was here when I got home from work. Pretty happy about that. Just use a flash drive or an SD card for now. You'll be okay.
