please help with p4000dvd HU. im goin nuts!
I got the p4000dvd off of a member and its awesome. looks great. one problem. How do I hook my sub amp to it? I currently am bumping thru the little black box thing off of the rear mids. But I want the rcs'a to go thru the deck so I can fine tune my sound quality and actually pound my subs. I've read the book, tried multiple combos of things, but nothing.
Does anybody have this deck? If you do would you be nice enough to give me a detailed explination of how to do this. Id really appriciate it tons!

run RCAs from the amp to the front of the car to the back of the headunit....plug it into the "sub out" RCA(s). run speaker wire from the amp to the subwoofer itself. done.
this is assuming that you have an aftermarket amp as opposed to the stock one.

k, its not that easy. Ive had tons of systems, installed tons, im not 12. I can run the rca's to the deck, but there are some sort of functions on the deck itself that need to be turned off or on for one cerrtain set of rca jacks to be used. Ive read the entire book, cant get it.
This is why I was hoping someone with this exact deck, since its a common one for us to have, would chime in and say something. figuring they have gone thru this already.

NWAE, ya I tried that all again too. its the exact directions in the book. When I plug the rca's in I get nothing. its so freaking frustrating. I dont wanna have to pay car toys an obscene amount of money for something that should be so easy.

I had this same deck in my saturn vue, you can turn the sub on and off and it's really in the settings, I had my loudness off because my stock speakers and tweeters couldn't handle it and I hate rattle. stupid question but is your remote wire hooked up?? I did the same dumb mistake. I don't want to insult you by asking if you hooked it all up right, but that's what everyone is going to come up with.

He has to have the remote wire plugged in and the RCA's have to be working because he has them hooked up a different way. Take some time to read. It's a process of elimination. If the wires are fine, then it's something else. Not plugged it to the right spot or the settings are wrong.
I sold this to him and I would not have sold it to anyone if it didn't work.
I had my subs hooked up to this, but took them out a while ago so I could not remember exactly how they were hooked up. I told him about the setting to turn the up on, but he seems to be having trouble finding it.
If someone knows how to get to it, you help will be greatly appreciated.

lol ud be surpised how many things can **** up during an install. also any help is better then no help and more often then not its something stupid not something big BUT to effectively troubleshoot a system you have to respond with useful information. he asked a question about the rcas and the deck. the question has at the very least been somewhat answered.
you dont need to turn the sub on unless you turned it off. if you unplug the radio and let it sit for 10mins to reset and plug it back in and there is still no sound then thats not the problem.

dude its super simple. i installed it on my own car.. i had it on my balt and recently transferred it to my goat.
rcas gotta be in the right spot on the back. and then on top of that u need the remote wire connected to the harness.
there's an option that says subwoofer in the audio menu. make sure its on. if that doesnt work take it to a pro

From the information he gave in the original post it could be a number of different things BESIDES the settings on the unit. I have no idea why you'd say its common sense related, because obviously if he has read the manual and followed the directions then it could quite possibly be something else.

lol what a docuhe... i hope ur sandy ass vagina figures it out yourself then. don't ask for help then bite the hand that feeds you. If we go by your logic: rcas arent the problem its the radio. Since he read the manual and still cant get it then its not the settings. so common sense says the radio was broken before he bought it. Continuing with your logic everyone here is a retard including myself so we should stop even making an attempt to help, since everything is common sense and the op has installed tons of systems hes pretty much a professional so it should already be figured out and done right?
sounds liek your going to have to go to car toys and in the words of flava flav, "they got to pay me, boy!"
