i shattered my rear window once from 900watts running into 2 rockford fosgate 12'' power punches. I was picking glass fragments out of my car for like a year. I sold them and got a 15'' kicker solo baric which had much less resonance and more kick to it and had no problem.

You can't damage your ears with bass...The frequency is too low. It is the high frequency sounds that cause the damage.

Yes you can brake a windshield with sound. I has been done a number of times. One reason is the resonate frequency of the glass and the other is the you flex the body so much that the glass can not move with it and brakes. Also you can hurt your ears with low frequency noise. Your ear drum can only move so far before it will pop. High frequency will also do damage to the long term hearing the same with low.

Your car's back window should hold out but if you can see the back window move in and out a lot then you could brake it or brake the seals.

Your ears will also get affected. Over the long hall you will lose some ability to hear with high frequencies and low frequencies can pop your ears and make them bleed. I have heard a number of artist say that they stood too close the the amp and came off stage with bleeding ears.

I hope this helps.

My suggestions would be to get plexy glass in the back (if you do actually brake the glass) and use a remote for when you really want to show off you stereo's base ability. At a safe distance you can really bump and not have too much problems with your ears down the road.

again..you can't damage your hearing with low frequencies. Take a physiology course to undertand this.
