Power Scanner

I was wondering if any one has hooked up one of those LED Power Scanners on their Cobalt. Where on the fuse box did you tap into?
The power scanner has three wires:
blk=hassis ground
Red=12v+
White=12v-

Are they not suposed to hook in with an alarm?
I had one in my civic but it was connected to the alrm and served as the flashing LED for that.
If there are 3 wires with it then ones a power ones a ground and ones a switched power, something that turns on and off with the car.

Yeah but dont you want it to turn on when the car turns off, and off when the car turns on.
You dont want it to run all the time do you?
You could just wire it right to a 12 volt source and put a switch in, that way you can turn it off and on when you want.
The 12 volt outlets under the radio and under the e-brake handle both have power running to them at all times. Just tap into them, use a toggle or a rocker switch somewhere close to the drivers seat, run the wires under the dash, up the A pilar, along the headliner where it meets the winshield and down with the wires that are already running to the mirror, mount it on the back of the mirror, nice and visable
This of course is just a suggestion, its really up to you
BTW- put a fuse somewhere close to the power source

No problem.

Remember, when and if you ever put in an aftermarket alarm, you can have them hook the scanner up to it.
Good Luck
