Problem after install of avic D3

Okay so yesterday i installed the avic d3 into my 2008 cobalt ss tc... everything seemed to work fine. Today i turned up the volume all the way and it only sounds abbout half of what the stock system was putting out. I was always told with an aftermarket head unit it should be louder. Is this normal or is it that i wired it wrong. I mean it seems to play fine, just not as lloud as the stock system would go.
thanks sam

PS: also i used the Gmos lan-04 connection for my cobalt because of onstar.
Thanks again Sam

i had mine professionally installed. i don't have onstar, but i had to get a wire harness for my car as well. this isn't normal. i am not knowledgeable enough to know how to solve your problem. sorry.

This, but be warned, if you turn up the volume on the box you are going to be turning up the volume on the door chime. When I did mine the chime pissed me off until I ended up bypassing the factory amp for my 4 channel
