problem with OEM headunit

I have a 2005 with OEM radio.
right now there is a burned disc in it when i try to eject the disc it read 'no disc' but then at times it will say check disc.
I know the cd is in the player but it isn't ejecting.
Is this a common problem or are there any suggestions?
