Problem with power inverter.

Ok my fiend has a 1500 watt power inverter in his semi.
The truck has a good alt and 4 new batteries in it. There big batteries so there not the problem.

The problem is that his inverters keep dieing. He is puting a 600-1100 watt load on the thing 1-2 times a day for 5-8 min and its rated for that.

Im wondering if the power wire he used has to high a resistence and that is the problem.

One thing to note is that the invert keeps over heating. And we done know why.
It is wired right and and works fine but they die in like 2 weeks time.

There Cobra inverters and he has killed 3 so far.
His wife has the same inverter and uses it the same way (To cook food) and its wired the same way as his and hers has lasted almost a year now.
The only differance is that he has a freightliner and she has a volvo. Thats it.

His alt is showing 14.3 volts all the time and was just replaced last week.

Any Ideas as to why this might be happening?

Thanks.

There 8' long 2gauge wire with a 150 amp braker on it. There is no way to get the wires any shorted do to the location of that batteries and the location where you have to mount the inverter.

WE are going to check everything out tomarrow agen and see if we can find a problem. Its to dark and cold out side right now.

I know. But there is. Sins it keeps killing inverters.

One more thing. He has a frezer hooked to it that pulls a 5-10watts all the time and puts a 300 watt load on it from time to time when it runs.
