Protect speakers from water?
I just put all new Infinity Kappas in my car and now Im concerned about water getting on the back of my door speakers is there anything i should be worried about? If so what should I do to to protect them? Plus the kappas have a crossover on the end of the speaker wire and that is just sitting at the bottom of the inside of my door is that a problem?
This is my first time installing speakers so excuse me if I sound like a noob.

Haha, I meant the water that gets in there from rain, I guess it gets thru the felt by the glass? I dunno but there was what looked like dried up water drips all over my factory speakers, and I assume thats what caused them to die so easily.

Water does indeed get in there and is drained out the bottom of the door. You'll notice a few drain holes along the bottom. Only real way you could protect them is wrap the back half of the speaker in plastic when putting it in.

X2 ^^^ Wrapping the back of your speakers & their wires with plastic, or some sort of repellent for water.

I know that water gets back there, I had to solder and then Hot glue over my door speaker conection in the cobalt so they stop rusting. I'm thinking about a "Plastic enclosure" for them...I found it online somewhere.

Yeah i think you can get plastic enclosures for the speakers, i've never had a problem with water wrecking my speakers... then again most cars don't usually get that much water inside the dore panel

I saw those cover things when I was on amazon buying the stuff for my new setup. I think ill just go in my door and figure out some way to cover up the crossover and/or mount them up off the bottom of the door. I guess car speakers are made with moisture in mind and a little water wont hurt, I hope.

lol when your making it you just want it around the same size as the speaker. it wont be a problem if you make it correctly
Dispute honestly you should be fine speaker wise. if your crossover is in the door that could be a problem in the future. If you can mount it to the metal of the door (just make sure there's nothing behind it when screwing in and make sure the door panel fits back on and your golden)
