Question

I have 4 12 inch MTX subs that have been sitting around.. Do they go bad over time ? Anyways I have an 400 watt amp also. Will these work with the stock XM radio in the cobalt ? If i went to a car audio place think they would laugh is I asked them to install old existing parts ?

Thanks for any info

I doubt they will laugh for old speakers. Anyways, the stock radio doesn't have any amp outs, so theres no place to hook it up. I'm sure a shop that knows what they're doing can do something with it, but I'd expect them to try to sell you an aftermarker radio.
Personally, I like the stock one, and don't plan on changing it. Plus I have steering wheel controls, and don't want to loose those.

I had Best Buy install a used head unit into my cavalier. They did not have a problem with it.

Thanks for the info I do also like the stock radio I just want to use these speakers in this car at some point s they have been sitting for a few years going to waste. I would only put in 2 subs and maybe give the other two away. You would think at almost 30 I would stop wanting to have fun and add things to my car.
