questions about adding more subs
long story short i already have 2 10' boston g5s, but want to add some 12's for the boomy bass, im hoping i could just add 2 more subs (seperate boxes) and have 4 subs on 1 amp. so here are the questions
1. is there anything wrong with having 1 sealed box and 1 ported box in a car?
2. how much ohms would the amp be pushing if it was 4 dvc subs on a mono amp?
3. i know that having 2 different kinds of subs in the same system is a bad idea, but what i want to do is add (2) 12' boston g2's to my (2) 10' boston g5's, would there be a problem with that since there basically the same besides RMS?
4. with distribution blocks, does the output wire HAVE to be smaller than the input, what i want to do is run a 0g for the input, and for the output (1) 0 gauge, (1) 4 gauge, and (1) 16 gauge. The 4 and 16 gauge are the stock cobalt wires.
5. I have 2 different types of speakers, my door speakers are 4 ohm (80 RMS), and my rear speakers are 2 ohm (100 RMS) can anyone recommend a good 4ch amp for me to get?
even if you can only answer 1 question i still appericate it!

3. unfortunately there is no such thing as "basically the same". for the most part they are either the exactly the same or different. while you can have 2 "similar" woofers possibly like the g5 and g2 but that doesn't mean its a good idea and often even woofers in the same line up are much different. sorta like the re SX 12 and re SX 10, or fosgate p1 12 and p1 15. I dont know bostons specs off the top of my head so i cant really say how similar or different they are
4 give me an idea what the d-block is for specifically and i can help from there (i might even have one)
5. rockford fosgate P400-4
Infinity Reference 475a
Kicker ZX350.4
JL Audio G Series G4500

what i want to do is run my 0g for the input, and it has 3 0g outputs. one is going to the 0 gauge from block to amp, next is going to be the 4g from block to alt, 3rd was going to be that 16g (im guessing on the size) that powers the interior lights and whatnot.
and thanks for the amps

G2's and G5's
Tell me something how do you plan on wiring the two sets of subz safely on any type of amp? The G5's are dvc, and the G2's are single voice coil. I would say your better answer with what your looking for is a very good amp, such as a JL Audio 1000/1 wired to the two G5's and use a slot ported box. the sound will be boomeriffic when you use the slot ported. If you want tight bass like that needed for blues music use a sealed box. Keep in mind everyone has an opinion, so find what you like and use that type of setup. just a thought.
