quick amp question
if the amp im using says 200 x 2 @ 2 ohm. and i make the subs run at 1 ohm, will the amp be ok to run at 1 ohm? i know a lot of amps will double the power at 1 ohm, but this spec sheet doesnt metion anything about 1 ohm. where as other amps will run 1 ohm. i jsut want to know if it will give me the one ohm level or will it run at 2 ohm and kill my amp over time. thanks.

i think i found it, i may throw a short circuit protection switch. this is done by the speakers operating under the minimum impedence (ohms). so i put it up here in case anyone esle wants to know.

If the amp doesn't explicitly say it's 1 ohm stable, it's highly unlikely that it is.

if you run an amp under its "stable" ohm level then theres a good chance you could mess it up unless its been modded to accpet that ohm level. even then its very risky and for a daily driver its not worth it. Oh and btw the power level on diff amps dont exactly double when ohm is dropped but especially when going below rated ohm level dont expect double the power. IMHO i would get a 1ohm stable amp if thats the ohm level you want... I would recommend the T3002 amp by rf to you but it maybe more power then your looking at
