radar behind non-metalized tint
can you mount a radar detector behind a non metalized tint? I want to put it behind the big tint strip i have across the top of my windshield so no one can see it...
i heard for radars its best to be as high as possible and for lasers you want it as low as possible, but i dont want to hardwire it until its somewhat hidden so no one smashes my windows to steal it

well the actual windshield strip is 5% but all the others are double layered 5% and since i heard tints can effect the radars i wanted to be sure since mine are so dark

so then i should be able to put it behind the tint...correct me if im wrong but i think there called radar detectors for a reason and they do not detect lasers
i dont really use it so i dont get caught speeding, cuz i usually dont speed unless i need to, i just want to know if cops are in my general area so i can roll down my windows

Its very difficult to really tell. Just know that you do need to pay attention to laser warnings though since pretty much every state except Pennsylvania allows the use of it. With Laser gun prices going down, they are unfortunately getting more popular.
