Radar Detector Suggestions?

I was just wondering what you guys would suggest for a good priced good working radar detector? Not looking to spend like $400 for a valentine one, but I'm not sure what's good.

I haven't even seen any of those used for less than like $300 though.

How exactly do you even purchase a valentine one? There seems to be a lot to them like verifying the serial number and stuff. Anyone know anyone selling one fairly cheap? I had been looking at the Escort Passport 8500 as I was told it was good.

technically, any radar detector will work. The fundamental issue you have with any radar detector, is that in order for it to go off, it has to be receiving a signal to interpret. Meaning your already getting hit by radar in some form.

I highly recomend you hop on google and research radar detector myths and the such before spending that much on something that isn't going to help you as much as you think.
