Radar goes off on Throttle?
Ok so I have just a cheap little like 60 dollar cobra 9 band radar detector from my work. Works good enough to save me if i'm ever just cruising a few mph over the limit, but my problem with it is when i push the pedal to around half throttle or more the "L" which I believe stands for Laser starts blinking and it goes off beeping rapidly which is not only annoying everytime I use the pedal, but also when it does this I don't believe it's actually detecting anymore. Why is this stupid thing doing this? My friend has an 02 Mustang GT and it does it in his car under the same pedaling as well.
I'll try to post up a video of this happening later on if there isn't a solution provided yet.

A Crapra being a piece of ****? Nooooooo....
Do yourself a favor and get a Valentine 1. If you call Valentine Research and ask for a open box/Returned (people sometimes get them just for a long trip, then return them), you can get one for about $350.

Personally I have the 120 dollar one from Cobra like 4 years back and it's saved me every time I've paid attention to it and rarely has any false positives.

I don't really care to spend like 300 dollars on one because this one really works good enough just not when it does the stupid annoying as **** L on half+ throttle.

I had the same thing happen with my old radar too! I had an Escort 8500. I could never figure out why it would do it. I just figured that something was wrong with it and when you really got on it, it made something in the detector move and set it off. I really don't know why it did it, but since you and others have had a similar experience I'm guessing it has to do with the force of the acceleration.
