Ok Got It Done Today For Free But The New One Does Not Sound Nearly As Good As Mine It'S Not As Loud At Full Volume It Sounds Like Mine Does At About 1/3 Or Half. Now What Can I Do To FIX THAT?

I am going to guess you went from a base model radio (non-mp3 enabled) to a radio from a cobalt that was a model or two up in class from yours.

What year/model do you have. What year/model did you purchase the radio from.

For 07 radios, there are 5 different models:

Base Non-MP3 (Black), Black MP3+XM, Black MP3+XM 6 Disc, Silver MP3+XM Requires External Factory AMP, Silver MP3+XM 6 Disc Requires External Factory AMP

Same thing happened to me. You can't use that radio as it is from the Premium Sound package and requires at least the factory amp. The base model radio has an internal amp.

If you are looking to just have a silver faceplate, you can swap out the buttons and cover.

If you are looking for the updated interface and MP3 capability, I am unsure of the radio line from 05 & 06. Can anyone tell us if they made 5 models for those years as well? If so, you are still in luck.

Us 07 people are lucky that the LT and LTZ models came with an upgraded non-premium unit to handle XM, and are swappable. Also, 07 radios, referred to as bowtie radios are also swappable with 08 radios.

Unfortunately, and keep in mind, you may not swap anything greater than an 06 radio.

Ok Thanks For The Info. I Actually Wanted The Silver And Mp3 Player. If I Decide To Change Out The Dash Trim To Silver I'll Just Swap Covers. Thanks Again.

Warning, it is not plug and play. It has to be unlocked as well and the car computer must recognize it and successfully work with gmlan. aftermarket may be better choice.

ah, didn't know that, but if you want to go that way....

Personally I'd suggest a Aftermarket Amp...Hence why I have the stock one in a Closet

What Can I Do For An Mp3 Player With Good Sound Without Going Aftermarket? I Have Two Factory Radios Now Is It Possible To Open Both Of Them Up And Take The Internal Amp Out Of The Base Model One And Put It In The Silver One With Mp3 Capabilities? I Know I'm Asking Alot But I'm On Vacation So I Have Nothing But Time On My Hands.
