Rear Speaker Wire Polarity?

I'm trying to hook up a line output convertor to my rear 6x9 speaker wires in my SS. It's got the MP3 player in it and I want to hook up a couple subs. Can anyone tell me which wires are posative and negative in the rear?

I'm talking about taping into my rear speaker wires to hook up a line output converter, so I can run RCA wires to my amp. I know on the right rear there is a blue/white wire and on the left rear there is a brown/white wire. I can't remember what the others were.

The two tone colored wires are your negatives, but why would you do that? I thought all SS's come with the premium sound system so the wire for your subs should be there. If the sub is not there you might want to check the factory head unit to see if there are RCA jacks in the back already. Some factory Stereo's have them already.

Sorry, I just read the post at the top of the page. I'm wondering, is there an amp on the truck where I can get my 12 volt signal to turn the amp on? Or where is the easiest place to get he 12 volt turn on wire?

Buddy, do yourself a favour and get this done professionally. If you screw up your audio system because you tinkered with it, GM will not cover it under warranty. The signal output to the rear 6x9's are not high impedeance so a converter will not work. Does your amp have high level inputs? If so, run speaker wires directly into the amp instead of an RCA. Your subs will sound a lot nicer since the head unit will control the signal to your sub amp as opposed to the converter. If you're unsure, go to a stereo shop and ask for their advice and make them take responsibility if something goes wrong with your factory system.

I am only trying to hook up a line convertor to the rear speaker wires because mt Rockford amp doesn't have a place for anything except RCA jacks. I've done tons of my own stereo stuff and I know what I'm doing. I'm only trying to find out a bit of info before I do it. Why can I not convert the speaker wire signal to RCA signal? And where can I get the 12 volt signal from. One more thing, is there a build in crossover to cut some bass out of the 6x9s? If so then where can I get my signal?

alrgith listen the 12v u go right to the battery. Run a switch up to the front so you can turn on and off the subs. The line out converter will not have enuough power to push the amp and subs tho. You best bet would be to add a new deck.

I got everything hooked up and it works great. Has plenty of power to work my 2 12" rockfords thru the Rockford 500A2 amp. I have a bad rattle in the rear speaker deck.
How did you guys fix your rattle there?
