Ok so I just found my rearview mirror with autodim, compass and maplights, with NO onstar, got it out of a 07 HHR. I got a connector with some wire with it and have all the wires figured out except the wire in position 6 wich is a blue w/white stripe. Does anyone know where that goes or what voltage it should have?

I found it. For anyone wanting to do this upgrade it is very easy. I now have fully functioning autodim, compass, maplights and the maplights also come on and dim off with the dome light

i haven an 08, no sun roof, that came with on-star. I cancelled onstar so i dont need the mirror buttons anymore. my mirror does NOT have map lights as i have a dome, but i would love map lights and a compass (don't care about auto-dim, although it would probably be nice to have)

I didn't take any pics, sorry. But it's really easy. I got a auto dim, compass, maplight, with NO onstar from a 07 HHR and made sure it came with the plug and some wire to work with. It has a 16 pin connector but only has 5 wires in it= 12v, grd, courtesy light, these 3 wires are the same 3 wires that run your dome light so its easy to tap into them. Then the other 2 wires is a 12v switched and the auto dim override for when you put the car in reverse. Alot of people don't hook up the autodim override, I did cuz I was replacing my carpet anyway. (that wire is under the carpet, under the drivers seat, why alot of people don't hook it up). For the 12v switched I ran a wire down the drivers side pillar to the bcm and found a 12v switched source, but you can use just about any switched source you want. If ya got any questions just PM me. Here's the HHR 16 pin connector. Like I said the one I used only uses 5 of the pins.

Sorry, no gm part number. Only thing on the back is GENTEX 025898 GNTX-511. Like I said this was out of a 07 hhr. Shouldn't be hard to find one in a junkyard or ebay. Got mine off ebay for like 35.00 shipped
