Remote start 08 cobalt 5-speed
I have an issue here. I am trying to install a remote start in my car with a buddy taht works at best buy and we are having issues bypassing the clutch. If there is a way to do this how would you go about doing so? we have supplied 12v to the yellow clutch wire abovve the obd2 sensor through a relay off the starter while. However this is a clutch positioning sensor.

so you plan on leaving your car in neutral with just the parking break? bad idea. as far as the install not sure, but the "installer" should know how to do it or he shouldn't be working on the car.

All works except for the clutch bypass. and to my understanding its not the same as if you were doing it in an 05 -07
And if Best Buy would allow to install on manuals...
so really all i'm asking is how to b bypass the clutch sensor
And t the moment I'm kinda thinking this place doesn't know how to do that either

You need to get a remote start thats made for 5-speeds.
Compustar with Idata link or Fortin modules
Tell your buddy from best buy not to bite off more that he can chew, and get it done by a pro.
These cars are a pain in the ass to get the remote starts to work as it is (07+ models) Never mind tring to bypass this and bypass that without really knowing what your doing.
Theres alot more damage that can be done other than just not getting the remote start to work, F**k up your BCM and then see what kinda problems you have.
It needs these sensors in order to go into reservation mode, this is a saftey feature so it does not try and start the car with it in gear. In my car I have to set the E-brake, put it in N, take my foot off the brake and then turn the car off, then open the door,in that order. the car will stay running until I close the door, then it shuts down and arms itself, while my remotee plays a little chime to let me know its in reservation mode (the remote start is activated)
Mines a CompuStar Pro P2W9000FMR, since I'm not in the US its the international version which has a 5000 foot range rather than the 3000 foot range the US models have.
