Replacing the Base Radio

Replacing the Base Radio
My base Cobalt came with the basic radio.
Would it be possible to replace this radio with one of the MP3 units?, because I'd really like an MP3 player. I'm guessing these will start showing up on EBay. I know about the theftlock in the radio, but could a dealer reset this?
Some questions....
Are the radio connectors the same at the back?
Does the dash have to come apart to remove the radio?
How hard is it to replace the radio?
I know I can replace the unit with an aftermarket radio, but I'm just wondering if this is an option.
Thanks.

I would suggest something similar.
Buying a factory unit gets expensive after purchasing the car.
Aftermarket stereos don't use the same controls.
So you have to pick your poison.
A question though, does anybody know of any aftermarket setups that use the factory steering wheel controls?

There is a company that sells items to help you keep your factory item's, like the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio.
Here is the link: http://www.pac-audio.com/

I also understand, from talking to a number of local installers, that removing the deck could be very difficult. They stated that one would most likely have to move the entire deck to another spot (Perhaps trunk) so that the ECU can see it due to how heavily the other vehilce systems integrate with the deck... doh !!!
