Here is some of the stuff form the Q&A PDf from the Road Dyno:
Road Dyno FAQ
What is a dyno anyway?
A dynamometer is basically a device that measures the amount of power and torque that is being developed by an engine. A good dyno can analyze the entire power band of any engine and present the user with the results in some type of readable format.
How does the Road Dyno work?
The Road Dyno is a precision timing system that looks at a record of ignition sparks or vehicle movement over time. Based on when a single spark plug fires, the program can compute acceleration, and therefore, power. The user must supply the car's weight, gear ratios, tire sizes, and some other variables, but the rest is pure physics.
How do the readings from the Road Dyno compare to the readings of a Chassis Dynamometer?
Some cars may perform differently on a chassis (stationary) dynamometer because the car is not actually moving. One of the major differences is air resistance. Since the vehicle is moving through the air when using the Road Dyno it is a more accurate reading. The Road Dyno will allow you to accurately measure the amount of power your car is putting to the ground, which is what you want to know anyway isn’t it!
How accurate is the Road Dyno?
Although temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, fuel, and even your car's Engine Control Unit learning capability can affect power from one given day to the next, the Road Dyno's accuracy is believed to be plus or minus about 3 horsepower. The Road Dyno takes hundreds of power measurements through the entire power band of the engine being tested. This provides enough resolution to be able to analyze performance parameters like spark advance, knock retard, power drops as a result of fuel pressure, etc.

From what I'm reading, I don't believe that this will be all that accurate, especially since our cars bring up the most accurate numbers in 4th and that would entail you driving your car on daily streets up around 140mph..I will stick with taking my car to a regular dyno shop. Another bonus to taking your car to a shop for the pulls is that they can tell you if your car is leaning out and get out of the pedal to keep from detonation.
