So as always i can never be truly finished with anything. I yanked my subs to spray the inside of the box with second skin spectrum. I sorta want to see if it will improve my score but the goal and purpose is to reduce resonance and provide a better seal. I had 4 quarts of this stuff sitting for over a year, i was planning on spraying the underside of my car but without a lift or access to one i cant really do it. The contact i had to use a lift disappeared right after i bought the stuff SO i sprayed the better portion of a gallon of this stuff in the box. Can anyone guess what the green tape is for? I want to see if anyone can guess the surprise in progress

Team SMD?
im assuming you meant spraying the underside of the car? ya i would of but no lift. sux because ive had the spectrum for forever. I probably wouldn't have started this fiberglass nonsense had i not had the spectrum laying around

ya i know but those are really what i wanted and what i liked the sound of that didn't break the bank too much. Plus 3 is the bare minimum... i need a total of 10 channels of amplification including the bass. and i really couldn't find anything big enough for my tastes.... plus its sorta cool being able to listen turn on and off any individual set of components at will. It really helps out when I'm tuning
nothing super crazy yet we've just been throwing together ideas on how to get this done, have it be removable (like i said i eventually prefer it to be vinyled) and functional. were gonna see how that cardboard lip holds up when stretching the fabric across. This is defiantly not going to be easy

Curious to see the results of this. I'm assuming you will meter this setup with only the second skin being the change to the enclosure? I'd really like to see those results as I've seen negative results from similar coatings. Is there a reason you're staying away from a ported enclosure?

but its cool none the less

Reason for the sealed enclosure in the first place was space. I really dont have the room to go ported... the goal was to make the box as big as possible with the area i wanted to take up and if i could do ported awesome if not sealed. It was just boarderline on too big for sealed but too small for ported so i went ahead and had him do it sealed. Now that ive heard it and im used to the sound/clarity theres no way i would be able to go back to ported. As is it can get loud enough for me and anyone in the surrounding area so going ported just gets me trophies that i pretty much win anyway. No reason to loose the clarity for that

I should show you a pick of my wiring in the Cavalier....especially with the interior out...Yours would look fairly sane....lol.
Good Luck. I'll be watching. (and I had 6 amps in the Cavalier too! 2 for subs, 1 for front doors, 1 for front dash, 1 for rear dash, and 1 for Bass shakers (Yes those bass shakers) lol)

well mainly the back speakers... the fronts really sound fucked up without all of them playing. but i haven't found a single 6 channel amp that's ~30X2 and ~150X4. most are like 100X4 and 200X2 or something stupid
but its cool none the less
well ill find out. the goal was to do the fiberglass by this weekend as well so i wouldn't know for sure if the SSA helped or not. I'm pretty sure it will because if anything the box is sealed better now. Instead of sorta half ass its damn airtight.

Betta its going to look sick.
I just saw a Sansui amp on Ebay.
Now I what your thinking, but for a few years they contracted PPI to build them high end amps.
PPI used the same board and chasis as the art series (it was at the same time the art series was out) but only made limited numbers of them.
The one I saw was a 600.2 .
So thats a class A/B perfect for running a set of rears.
There white but only difference bettween them and the PPI is it says Sansui accross the front instead of the art decal.
I'd sell you mine but its a 600.1 so it wouldn't work for what you need.
Have you ever looked at the old school Phoenix Golds, The M44 M50 ect. Those amps were awsome and look similar to the PPI amps. If cosmetics are a concern.
