so all of the cobalts have them but how do you make them work as a shift light? i think it would be cool to tell it to come on before i blow the engine ha ha ha
anyone have any ideas let me know

Im not sure which cars have them because i have red lined my balt maybe twice and i haven't seen any shift light. I kno its not an option, but im not sure what car they came with!

its on your dash up high on the right side of your gas gauge opposite of your fog light indicator. take a flash light in there and look everyone has one but the only ones that use them are the stage 3 ones when you are changing your rev limiter octane ratings and whatnot

umm not true on the ls and lts... there is a shift light... i work at a dealer and it comes on about 3-5 k....

Its pretty much the most useless POS ever, it turns on around 3-5k like sick said and it never turns off...

It is supposed to be used to get better gas mileage. Not drag racing...

It would be cool to get a controller and hide it up inside the dash then wire the light to the one in the cluster...

wow its different for every car. the base models have it for gas (which is what most people buy the base model for).. the SS n/a is perfect shift light right at red line.. the SS is deep in red before you hurt your car. there are ALOT of threads on this.. please use the search button

Yea i had a shift light on my LS.. man was that thing annoying and like the other guys said it was just for MPG... not for fun. lol

My car has it and it comes on at 1900RPM. I never needed to use it.

Mine never works I don't think they are enabled in the sc cars I'v had my tach burried lots and have never seen the factory light come on.

ya i've taken my 2.4 right to redline and never scene a shift light.

odd thing....few weeks ago when I put my exhaust parts on I romped the car afterwards......got up to just under 7k shifted and the light came on for a split second....first time I ever saw it on my car

When I was getting tuned with HPTuners by MemphisR24 he turned it on just to see what would happen. It still didn't work.

ha ha this thing is strange. id like it to come on at about 6500 rpms and stay to 7k. it would be neat to see. i know its there but its weird that it isn't used. so some cars have it on for gas some have it on for actual rpms some have it come on at random times for no reason and some have it turned on and it doesnt do anything
