Simple Gauge Question
I bought a narrowband af gauge from a friend to just see how it looks in my car. The thing is that I'm not sure how to wire it up to see if it lights up. I do a little wiring **** sometimes, but never did a gauge before.. So my question is how do I plug it into something to see if it lights up? Do I just pop a wire into a certain fuse area or something? I don't care about it reading, I just want to power it to see if it works. If the fuse idea works, will it also go off when the car is turned off? I've never done gauges again.. lol. Thanks!

I believe display works on 0-5 volts. With out a diagram saying which wires go where your just guessing. Google the mfg and see if they have a owners manual on line......

So like just take the wire and wrap it around the positive terminal? haha Is it safe to leave it on there full time or will that blow it / just stay on the whole time?

if its an autometer narrowband a/fr gauge then there should be three wires.. red goes to any power supply that cuts off when the key gets cut off black is ground and the purple wire will go to the purple wire in the wiring harness goin to the ecm under the hood.

So to power it do I just slip the red wire into the fuse slot of the sunroof? Then the black grounds on an un-painted metal surface and the purple splices to the purple wire going into the ECU? Where's that located? And what kind of wire should I buy at the parts store? My existing wires are pretty short.. Do most gauges follow this similar installation? I am switching to a triple pod soon so I'll have 3 gauges going.. Thanks guys!!

yea just pull the sunroof fuse and wrap the wire on the fuse and plug it back it in ...any thin gauge wire will work..you do not have to hook it up to the ecm..you should just be able to run it through the firewall and go straight to the o2 sensor...its the signal wire

Auto Meter. Thats what this one is. And all the next ones will be as well..
So o, figured out everything so far.. But the O2 sensor? Not quite sure what that is and where I'd locate it? How do I make the other gauges read then? Like let's say.. Tranny temp? Or something like that. Umm.. What else.. Volt meter.. etc..
Thanks!
