So.. How Strong Are Underglow Kits??

i ask this question bc i am not on my 3rd kit the first one i ever bought i put on a 90 GMC Jimmy it was just a red neon kit from optima. and to be honest it still works and it has taken the most abuse ever offroad racing everything, the 2nd kit i bought was an electra 7 color led kit, i went to take it off yesterday to prep the cobalt for the plasmaglow kit and the tube was broken and theres circuit boards hangin out wtf? in my cobalt i havnt dont anything that would even damage a tube unless winter can be blamed for it but my optima kit had gone through 2 winters on that truck and its still kicking and its a neon not led, so not i have the plasmaglow kit, im sketchy now if i even still want it after seeing the damage to my last kit, i thought about going streetglow untill this kit came up in a GB but id be pissed if i dropped 250 on a streetglow and then a tube breaks, so is the plasmaglow really a strong kit? what can we do to prolong the life on our underglow kits?

My friend got the PlasmaGlow LED kit installed yesterday, so only time will tell...

I've had my Street Glow Gold Series neons on for almost a year and they haven't broken. They did stop working in the winter, but I found out that it was only because of how cold it was. They started working again once it warmed up.

My other friend, though, got a cheap set of neons from Auto Zone for about $90 and had nothing but problems with it. One side tube broke, so he got a replacement... A couple months later, it broke again, along with the front tube... Then all of a sudden they all stopped working, so he burnt them in a fire. True story.

i have plasmaglow 2.1 million color led underbody kit, they have lifetime warrenty on them....... streetglow is ok, a little brighter maybe, but it you get the 4.2 million color led kit, i think it would blow streetglow away.....

Yeah my Street Glow neons are definitely brighter than my friend's 2.1 mil color Plasma Glow's, but I'm jealous of all the different modes he has. Mine also have a lifetime warranty, as long as the outer tube doesnt break.

well im worried about lowering my car now i dunno if it will be safer to or not i might also see if i can get lower mud flaps to prevent rocks from shooting back on the highway, believe it ot not when ur going the speed limit on the highway a rock can shoot more than 100mph from the tire and i dont care what u got u shoot a little rock at it at 100mph lol and its done lol so i dont know i only hope for the best, i opened my new kit and the ends of the bars are actually larger than the old kit so im goint to possibly see if home depot or prolly a fabrication shop can make some kinda metal plate that will protect it

My PlasmaGlow kit worked perfectly, until right before the winter hit. After it cleared and got warm again(until this week...grrr lol), I tried using it, and my side tubes would not work at all. I took it to the place that installed it, and they couldn't figure it out either. Since I had a warranty, they replaced them, so its not a big deal anymore. But, I drove more carefully in the winter than in the other months (got mine back in July), so I don't understand it at all. Of course, here it is 2 weeks w/the new tubes, and I'm waiting on a kit from StreetFX to come in, and will be getting rid of the PlasmaGlows. So, good luck with em!
Also, I used to have a StreetGlow kit on my old car, and the straps that hold the tubes on, broke from normal driving as well. Same for a buddy of mine... And since they were neons, of course it was money down the drain, cause the outer tube broke when the thing fell to the ground, voiding the warranty.

i know this may ruin the whole debate, but Optix IS Street glow. they are one in the same. Optix is just the lower end of Street Glow. Our Shop used to carry both plasma glow and street glow and street glow by far exceeds plasma glow and street glow with warranty there stuff no questions asked.. to warranty plasma glow, you gotta write them a fu*king novel just to get them to think about replacement.....

also, i had street glow underbodies on my s10 put under these conditions....

...and never had one fall off or break... so as for the straps being weak... i think that might have been an installer error.......
