Sound Deadening my car!!! PICS!!
Well I am getting ready for my big install and this was one one the many steps for me to take. I bought 50 sq feet of "B-Quiet Ultimate", and went to town on my trunk. This stuff better be worth it because it was one of the most tedious projects I have ever worked on. Anyways... Here is some pics.
My buddy Pat (black_bullet_ss) with me as always.
Left Side
Right side. Anyone know what that vent is????
In Progress.
About 2 hours in.
Finished!!!
Finished Left Side.
Finished Right side.
I also did the trunk lid but I dont have pics of it. I also used spray foam on the lid for down in the chambers.

Is doing this worth it with the stock sound system? Wit the Pioneer D3 it thumps pretty good.
Will using this in other places like behind the pillars help get rid of vibes from an engine mount? Any ideas? Sorry for the thread jackin.

LOL!!! AS if you noticed that. I was using the fork to pry out the clips for the wires.
As for the weight. I added about 10 pounds. And I notice a big difference with the road noise. My subs will be in soon, and then ill really know if this was all worth it. Thanks for the comments.

You won't eliminate body resonance completely, but you will get more out of your subs guaranteed! I noticed a huge drop in exhaust noise entering through the trunk. I also added an MDF floor board, which made a huge difference. You may want to add several layers to the trunk lid to reduce lid "hop" and improve bass accuracy.

Did mine too, also did the roof, rear shelf, doors, A, B, and C pillars, everything but the interior floor. I still have rattle, but it is in the dash trim where the defrost comes out, pulling that tonight, and the rear-view mirror rattles like a SOB too. The cover for the rear deck will still vibrate, you will need to vent it to let the air pass, it just sits up there and the air pussing against it will move it like no other.

it musta baked in the trunk of my black car, because the pieces on the roof of the trunk literally fell off
in my old car, I used the spray rubberizer, and it seemed to help soundproof better

ya with asphalt its a double edged sword... without some sort of heat it wont stick well the first time and definatly not for an extended amount of time (ever notice people dont do much asphalt roofing in the winter) But if you apply too much heat your going to essentially ruin the asphalt ant it will fall off.
btw the b-quiet ultimate is a butyl based deadener (not sure how much is acutally butyl or what) so its a great step in the right direction

It also prevents your eardrums from being crushed if your air bags go off. I had an accident last winter in my Sunfire. The pressure from the airbags did some damage to my hearing and popped the drivers side window out of it's frame. If it weren't for that vent, I would be even more deaf now!
