Hey SS_SC_Chickmagnet, you do realize our front speakers are 6.5" don't you? If you do, why are you going with 5.25"?

well I was informed of this After I was told they were 5.25 and I already had them ordered. and they'll still fit, so I'm just gonna go with it lol if they really suck and I can't stand it, I'll send them back and get the 6.5. but they can't be worse than fac. so it should be alright by my standards.

it cuts on, but I think the outputs are blown. I dunno, its Audiobahn.. =/

I just added the numbers in there. at the beginning I explained about the new stuff I'm getting and I'll be taking pictures as I put them in. I replaced the factory tweeters and have two extra tweeters in the back, so with the subs I turn the bass down under half All the time so the midrange don't Bog down at all, and its surprisingly clear for Factory. I've had people ask if I had anything replaced but I haven't, yet. Even in the 120-130 range I don't get no distortion.. but towards the peak I do tho.. just too much on those fac. speakers, which is Why I'm changing everything, that and I know it'll sound alot better still.

I understand what you're talking about though... I'll have all the pictures as soon as I get the stuff.
what model is it... do u wanna sell?

"nope not really. they would be louder if the cover piece was 3 inches shorter"

Hmm, so you should leave some gap where the bass can pass out through the seats eh?
I wanna plan something firing towards the side.it can maybe cover half the trunk.

Also, I read on JamesRs thread about how the front door speakers are bolted to this plate thats bolted to the door, and that makes after market speaker placement a b*t*h. Is that true?
Or is there a way to just mount your speaker onto the plate that bolts onto the door?

for non pioneer systems it is like that but the pioneer systems have a separate bracket. Yes you always want to leave space for the air to pass thru otherwise you will end up with something like the guy with the mtx 9500s in his cobalt. Only time you want it to be sealed is when your foward firing the subs and it must be sealed as well as possible

I'm looking for more install pics, SQ is best. Some of these don't look like they are really about SQ, but maybe some more info and more pics would explain it better.

the more equipment and pictures the better.

My cavy had 8 speakers (if you don't count components as 2 each) and 6 Amps, plus some other misc stuff (crossover, Cap, 2 headunits, video stuff)

I suppose this doesn't really fit here, but I'm kindof excited about it. I sold a single piece of my old system today for $86.00 plus shipping, that doesn't sound like a lot, but the piece is only a small metal thing....

I'm kindof excited. I guess the old RF gear is still good to buy. (although my RF Punch Power DVC 12" sub only went for $88.00+shipping)

If the above guy has 4 6 channel amps, thats 24 channels....thats close to the Number of speakers. (plus 4 on the receiver is 28)

lol i saw that on ebay...

but honestly i really dont like posting half ass installed pics. No point in making threads until the project is really going down.

Good example ive had 3 batteries in my car for ~2 to 3 months but ive yet to post pics because i have yet to wire them and my box would determine if i am going to change anything. I will be deciding alot of things in the next week concerning my system. Door speakers arrive tomorrow and just a bit of rewiring will make me the first balt with 2 15s (that i know of)

Judging by the posts so far, I see that there really aren't a lot of SQ people on CSS.net. Granted there are a few that have shared their dynamat pics, hu pics and their speaker replacement pics (and boy is there nice stuff!) there aren't that many as I thought there would be. I've seen a few people that just post pics of their dual 15's and a new hu, but that really to me is not a SQ application by itself. Hopefully more come around. I am sure Mr. James Rayanth will bring the thread back to life when he is done!

i'm all for SQ but i don't have the money for that.. and my old cheap system from my sl1 was free lol and provides enough bump/ clarity for me to work on go fast parts..

if i had money.. i'd have a sweet SQ system but i'm suprised not as many people are going the SQ route loud means nothing without clarity

well, it has only took 2 months for me to decide on what subs i want. i think im going to go with 2 10 inch alpine type x subwoffers, the new kenwood headunit that has a hard drive. and infenity 6 1/2s all the way around. sound like a sound quality system? oh, dynamat also....lots of dynamat. im going with 10's to save weight. dont want a ton of weight in the trunk. iv already got two nitrous bottles and a meth tank.
