Heres the start of mine, just the sub and amp. Pioneer 880 h/u, AA poly mids and alpine xt-19 tweets are next on the list. The sub is an Elemental Designs 12a22 nomex weave flat-cone with a TC Sounds TC-9 motor, old school. The amp is a RF Punch 150 25th anniversary edition 2 channel amp feeding the sub with 997 watts rms into a 4ohm bridged load.

Because of the way that I mounted the box to the seat-back, yes, only the larger half opens. I don't use my trunk for anything other than the occasional 2 or 3 bags of groceries, so being able to open it completely wasn't a priority. I m not super happy with the way it looks, and I want to custom build a box and amp rack with a beauty panel, I just haven't gotten around to doing it, plus I m waiting until I decide what 4ch. I m going with. It works for now.

For door mounts, rubber surround baffles work really well. They work by sealing the airspace behind your speaker with a set size, making the react like small box sealed speakers. More power handling, not as loud per watt, very tight precise sound, less echo.

They sound decent with very little tuning, so with a little tuning time they should sound awesome! I think I'm going to put some of those silicone discs behind them to isolate the back wave more.

I'm not offended! I would love to see some competition SQ systems! I'm not an expert by any means (although I do know quite a bit). That's why I started this thread, I wanted to learn from other people as well as help some newbies build their systems. That's what forums are all about, learning from each others experiences!

Hey, this is my first post here, but sound was the first thing I did to my car. Everything Alpine, and hopefully I'll get a flip out 7'' DVD receiver when I get some extra $$$
CDA-9856 Head Unit. Type S 6 1/2'' components in the front with custon tweeters and Type S 6x9s in the rear. All of those are coming from an Alpine MRP-F450 4 channel amp putting out 75 Watts per speaker RMS. In the trunk are two Type R 12'' Subs each powered by their own Alpine MRP-M650 Amp, which put out about 650 RMS to each sub.

Nice clean looking install with the exception of the crossovers on the door panels. You should have tucked them inside the door panel or in the trunk. They aren't really "eye candy" crossovers. Your trunk looks amazing though!

Thanks for the comments. I might pull the crossovers off after i redo my door panels, cause i want to show off my speakers a little more. I didnt hide them because people would always ask what they were and that gave me a chance to brag about my system and show it off a little haha

I got the pair of subs off ebay for $300 shipped, 650 amps cost me about $500 from ebay, HU was $200, Components were $135, rear 6x9 $100, 450 amp $250, and all the wiring and components was like another $200 cause its all JL. Cheap sound deadening mat'l off ebay ran about another $100. not to mention the mdf & vinyl for the enclosure and trunk. so probably like $1800-$2000 would be a good guess
I just love that i can pull up to a car thats running 'Dual' 12''s from Best Buy for $100 and put the volume up to only 25 (out of 45) and they end up listening to me. I also got my friend's dad to not talk to me anymore cause my car is louder than his Harley.
