Speaker WIre Replacement
Do you guys think its worth it having all my speaker lines replaced with a higher gauge? Im putting in a AudioBahn A6004V amp soon, and for some extra money best buy will replace my speaker wires with better cable, which I have to supply of course so if its worth it to upgrade, what should I upgrade too?

I was also wondering this, although, I suppose if you are going to be amplifying the main speakers, then more than likely you are going to be running new wiring for them anyway...

for the factory speakers it isn't worth it. they are just trying to **** you over for your cash. i've installed a lot of stereos and just used the factory speaker wires. the only think i would do is get the things (sorry i'm tired and can't think what they are called) that you put on the positive side of the speakers that cancels the bass. the reason i say this is this...most after market 6x9's, tweeters, etc. anything but subs or extremely expensive component sets can't handle much more than 100 or 130 watts and the stock wires are more than enough to handle that. when i first started out putting stereo systems on my cars i changed out the wires expecting some huge change and all it did was waste a day of my life there was NO difference. hope this helps!!

noob? No. I just dont have the tools nor or a garage to do the work in. Im thinking about doing it on my own but around here all its been doing is raining in 35 degree weather. So its not the best conditions to wanna spend hours outside installing an amp. So I figured for 70 it might be easier to have them do it, but idk, the nearest appt they have is on the 1st, and im inpatient so if we get a nice day around here ill end up doing it myself, along with my underglow install =P
And no if you saw my sig, I dont have stock audio anything lol

that said i would still stick with the stock wiring for the regular speakers. they should be able to handle most anything you throw at them. i've never had a problem and i've had 200 watts per channel going to my component set in my grand am. the speakers in the factory location were using the factory wiring and sounded ****** awesome!!! the highs would hurt your ears they were so loud. so i would say you are good to go

I would still go with an active crossover if you have the extra cash to purchase one. And like everyone else has been saying. You will be fine with the factory wireing for the speakers in the doors and the rear deck. Best Buy is just trying to get some cash out of you. You won't notice a difference if you did change the wires.

I am wiring my front components today. I am running 140X4 from a 4 channel amp and it looks like it is going to be a bitch to run any wire through the plugs GM used in the doors. Btw , they are Infinity Kappa Components (2 ohms). I'm going to take a look today and let you know how hard it is running the wire.

Getting the wires through the door plugs isnt that bad, I had to when I installed my power lock setup. Just pull the rubber plug out of the door and the door jamb, and it makes it very easy to run it through.
