Speakers not working with new head unit

im installing my alpine 9886 today and i have it all wired up correctly according to the diagram and everything, but im not getting any sound.

the system turns on and everything fine, i can switch sources, etc. but no sound comes out of the speakers...

are you using the wiring connector? cuz a buddy of mine told me that its possible that some of the connectors are messed up and if you get the cheap one that no sound would happen due to the stock amp.

do you have the Pioneer 7 speaker system? if so you probably need to send a signal to the Factory Amp to turn it on...

If your car has the seperate amp it needs low level inputs. I hope you didn't wire the Head unit's internal amp speaker outputs to it.

The wheel control depends I guess on the unit you purchased. Looking at the pinout of the 24 pin connector; depending on your car it appears to be either pin B3, a light green wire; or pin A9, a dark blue wire.

As said before there is a pink "radio on" wire that is essentially an amp on wire when used with an aftermarket HU. There should be an "antenna power" wire on the new HU that you can use to connect to that pink one on the stock harness.

connect the remote wire to the pink radio on... or connect both the remote and antenna to that wire (like mk13 did)

Set the x-over freq. in the subwoofer section of the menu to 80hz there should only be a couple of settings ranging from 80hz to 120hz. If its like mine you'll have to do this for every source that the HU plays from (CD, Radio, USB, ect.)

if you got the steering wheel control adapter and didn't get it working yet. Don't follow the guide they mailed with the parts. Go to their website. They have car specific guidlines and much more well written instructions for it... It's what i used, and helped a hell of alot....

Sounds like the sub settings ONLY affect the sub preamp out... Which you can't use with the stock pioneer amp. This is because the stock amp takes the front and rear channel inputs and splits out the sub itself. There is no real way to change the sub Crossover frequency. In the end you will be doing no more "harm" to any of the speakers than the stock radio.

If there is a way to turn off the sub settings and preamp that would be good; to make sure it is outputing true fullrange to the amp. The only thing you can do to change the sound is mess with the EQ on the Head unit.

you may be able to switch off the sub output but its not going to do anything. preowner is correct in saying the sub output only effects the sub preamp (rca jack) which cannot be used with the stock amp

so if i get an aftermarket amp, it would allow me to control the sub level directly from the head unit?

I'm jumping on the "no sound" bandwagon with my new Alpine IVA-W205. What baffles me, is that my pioneer Screen in it before this one, worked fine, with no special wiring required....that i know of. I think we'll have to try some of these solutions you guys posted.
