The radio does not have a speed input, it has a GMLAN signal that adjusts the radio volume at different vehicle speeds, if you need a speed signal input you will have to get it from the transmission speed sensor. I believe it will be a yellow wire at the speed sensor on the manual and automatic transmission. Hope this is helpful.

VSS wire is Yellow. The connector is located (on the manual trans) right on top of differential (where the 2 axles come out).

I had the AVIC-z1 installed on my car with the vehicle dynamics ad they didn't need the VSS. You should not need it for the N2.

You can tap into it behind the dash gauges in the car. Thats what I did. Some people will say it makes no difference. But when I had my unhooked there were times I would get inaccurate readings just going on the GPS

Hold off on this one. On my drive down to our other shop for more work on the car the speedo was not working. With the deck disconnected the speedo works again.

I'll have to look into it more once the car gets back to my main shop. I suspect I'll go to a wheel speed sensor instead.. I've had a couple sources tell me the VSS at the trans, and a couple more tell me the wheel speed sensor.....

Usually the wire is blue. I believe the wire that went into my spedo was blue and thats the one I taped into for the VSS. I wouldnt pay for the wheel speed sensor.

yellow wires under the steering wheel are airbag wires! they are usually in yellow protection with yellow connectors! do not touch them unless you un-arm the airbags!
