Stock HU XM option just disappeared...
So I never did reactivate XM on my car when I bought it but it still had the preview channel so I knew it had that option, plus I'm pretty sure all 08+ SS cars had XM. Well, XM got desperate and offered me 6 months for $25 so I took it. The only reason I never paid full price is due to mountains, I lose the signal about 33% of the time. Well, I go outside to view the radio ID and reactivate the radio and the XM feature on the radio is no longer there. It even still has an XM station on one of the presets. I press it and it just tells me XM not available. I press the Band button and it just switches between FM and AM band, no XM. Wth is wrong with it? Lol

did you unplug the headunit. mine did this in my wifes chevy, it took a couple days but then the headunit recognized xm again and it worked go figure. I say give it a few days and see if it comes on because you unplugged something, there should be no other reason it just dissapears.
can you go into menu and see the xm unit identification number? if not just give it some time. otherwise you may need to see your dealer about flashing it.

This happened to me. I brought my car in for service on the steering column recall (it locked up on me) and when I got the car back I could no longer switch to XM. I thought my subscription had expired. Fast forward 6 months later I got a renewal thing from XM so I realized I had had it the entire time and Chevy had done something when the car was there.
They had to order a replacement XM part for behind the stock HU. I don't remember exactly what it was but that was the problem. I don't know if they swiped it or just broke it when they did the service but I was not happy. The car was still under the 3 year warranty at the time so it was done for free.
