stock sub

is it possible to add another 10" pioneer sub from a cobalt ss to my existing system and headunit? its all stock but i can get another sub for cheap and i was wondering if that would work

if you would get another sub, you should probably get another amp. make sure you get the harness, cuz i dunno where you would get the plugs from and it would be a pain to hard wire it

the factory subs and amps will still work

if you knew how to wire it up yes it will work. You will need another amp and another sub enclosure. Going aftermarket on the hu will work too but it may be slightly harder to wire.

if you buy aftermarket headunit then you will need a special wireing harness (most likely) to still use stock amp... i am not sure how they work in cobalts but in most cars the stock amp is not just plugged in with rca terminals... so a specail wireing harness is needed... check out cardomain.com and go to store.. and then select your car and model... it should tell you what you need... maybe

ehh maybe... but it would be so much easier and efficient to get signal from the high levels offered thru the speaker outs

Going with an aftermarket headunit wouldnt get the best performance from the stock sub and stock amp. (at least as far as bass goes) I still use the stock speakers and amp for the speakers just not the sub.
