Sub position

Is better to have the subs facing the seat or the rear of the car?? Also y is one way better than the other? And last is a ported box better for the cobalt trunk rather than a sealed?

It’s all personal preference... On the subs they say its better facing the trunk about 3 ft from the back bc of the wavelengths of bass notes they hit the back of the trunk and come back at you in phase with all the other audio in the car.

A sealed box will give you tighter sounding bass. Ported normally has more spl and not as tight the notes kinda "role" more.

have them face the back of the car, if they get hitting real hard you dont want to actually hear the sub its self you want to feel it,

i have a 2farad tsunami cap. and going to get a battery. the cap just provides steady power to your subs if you have a big enough amp your cars lights will still dim with the cap. and plus the factory GM batteries usually dont last too long when you put a beating on them DEEP CYCLE FTW!

And IMO caps are useless. They do nothing more than put more of a strain on your electrical system. Get a good battery and do the big 3.

i used to have a 2007 honda civic that i put a yellow top battery in when i had my subs before i had my cap, my headlights still dim when the base hit (yes i know it was a civic) but then after i put in my cap there was a deffinate improvement in sound.... remember the cap charges A LOT faster than a battery, even though the yellowtop takes the beating you will still get improved sound (its power directly at the amp!)
