Subwoofer/Speaker question

thats how my RCA's are. front, rear/sub, and av output

i have an 09 with onstar and am using a GMOS Lan 04. I have removed my DNX5120 head unit because I was having an issue with onstar not communicating. Long story short, wasnt my stuff that I had hooked up. Anyway. When I put the factory stereo back in and hooked the speakers up to it the speakers sounded way better than when they were hooked up to my kenwood. What I had to do is to use a Y splitter for the front outs, and run front and back speakers off of them. I think this is why they sounded worse. Any ideas of what I can do to make them sound how theyre supposed to sound when hooked up to my kenwood? I do have subs.
