and I bought a JL 12" W3 to put in it.. and I'm using an Alpine MRP-M500 amp because I already have it. - Hopefully it'll sound good!
I think you might have an issue with the box because of how large it is. It might not sound right with just the W3. Normally W7s require a lot more box than a W3 so it might sound a bit weak with the amount of air it needs to move.

Yea i remember the SEx not being as good as the SE as well . With the x series, the subs got louder but lost SQ. I would prolly still get those over JL's or kickers tho. What do you think?

Mtx made a lower line jack hammer series that's not the original jack hammer we car stereo guys get a hard on over. If you got a PAIR, and only need 1,000 watts you must have got these
MTX JackHammer JH4512X2D Car subwoofer - 500 Watt

because there is no way you fitting a pair of these in a car AND you would need 12,000 watts to run em

T9922-22 - MTX Audio 22 6000 Watt Jackhammer Subwoofer

Yea I heard one in a Navigator one time and I was not impressed. My 2 Kole audio 12's I had at the time were WAY louder and sounded WAY better. There is no way that I can see a 22" sub being accurate at all, I would imagine that you could never get any respectable level of SQ outta a speaker that large
