switch for subs
is it possible to wire a sub and amp to one switch to turn on and off when you want one subwoofer and a way to wire anther sub and amp to another switch so u can have 2 subs going or one at a time. Also be able to shut them both off when parked ?
I was thinking of doing this because i want to invest in a competition sound system but i also use my car as a daily driver so being able to cut half the bass out would be key for me not going deaf.

yeah just throw a toggle switch on the remote wire that goes from the headunit to the amp, its usually the blue skinny wire in the amp kits. it cuts the whole amp off.

It can be on but I would turn it low before switching the switch back on. Otherwise you might damage your subs

You don't want to get a power pop at a high volume, that could destory a sub very quickly!

My Cavy has 3 amps hooked up with switches on each remote wire, I had to get a full 12 volt signal so I had to run a relay before I cut off to the amps, but it works great, and has for 8 years. No problems with the amps. I generally turn the volume down when I turn on a interior Amp (highs/mids) but the subs can come on and off at any time and I never have any problems.
By the way, I have a shift knob with built in switches that I use, looks very nice. and I don't have random switches all over the place. The knob has 4 switches, 3 amps, one with a second radio on it, and the 4th is for my fog lights. I also have a wireless remote for my interior neon and under car kit. (another 4 switches.)
