no one told me they were better, i liked them better. thats all i said. lol
i know they arent truly better, because of the pricing, just my opinion thats all.

if you want to save some money, try ebay instead of best buy. i picked up both of my type r 12s there along with my amps. i got everything brand new for significantly less

like everyone said, the type E probably sounded better cause the R was under powered. Save up a little more money and get the better sub

Type-R's are extremely, extremely power hungry compared to the type E's. So the E's are easier to push and the R's are easier to push improperly. But properly matched 1 r 10 > 2x10 E's. I've owned both.

FYI I just bought a set of spr-17s and spr-69c from hookedontronicsbuys for like 222 shipped.

soo, i got all my speakers in and they sound great.
my only prob was that i ran the LOC to the rear speakers and if you want this to work right on a 4 channel amp you have to have a LOC for the front and the rear.
So, i had to go buy two Y-splitters to get signal to all four speakers.
