toggle switch vs. push button

toggle switch vs. push button
I'm not sure if this goes in this forum or not..
But as some of you know i've got the train horn set on my car, and the switch is an on/off toggle switch.
It works well, but hard to mount.
I went to auto-zone and found a blue led push button switch, that unfortunatly is press once, for on, press again for off. (Which would be good in most cases)
Anyways, it has 1 ground wire (black), and 2 other wires. One supposed to hook up to a live wire(white), the other to a wire that only has power when the car is on.(red)
Anyways, I've tried wiring it all different ways, and the little blue LED comes on regardless of which wire (red or white) that I hook up. Which is fine because I just want to test it.
I press the button and no horn..
Did I do something wrong or is this type of switch just not compatible with the horn setup?
I put the toggle switch back in place, and it works fine.
Thanks for any input.

I couldn't mount them under the car like I wanted, 'cause the cobalt is too low, and in the future will be lower, I have all 4 of them pointing down (doesn't hurt sound), and right behind the grill. They start at the top, about where the release switch is for the hood, and go down to just under the frame LOL, pretty big.
I got the conductors special from hornblasters.com
Little over $600, but well worth it, if you're standing close enough, you can feel the horns when they go off.
The only place I don't use it for a laugh is near the tracks with cars going by. Although I have in the past, pretty funny but I don't want any bad accidents.
Thug on the bicycle was even more funny going across.

Put the push button in the drawer. I found a switch mount and that's securing my toggle switch now perfectly. I'll try to get vids sometime this weekend, just gotta find a place to do it. Home owners assoc. is already pissed.
